Windsor upright vacuum cleaners are my favorites. We've been using Windsor Sensor upright vacuum cleaners in my commercial cleaning company for over 5 years without a problem. It is not cheap, but well worth the money.
In my commercial company, we've used over 20 different commercial vacuum cleaners over the years and Windsor vacuum cleaners out-performed all other vacuum cleaners. Other vacuums, such as Powr-Flite and Sanitare brands, are relatively cheap, but in need of constant replacement of part. So far, over the last 5 years, owning over 10 Windsor upright vacuum cleaners, only things we've replaced so far are vacuum bags and brushes. Yes, that's right, we've never replaced the belt yet. It is because of the unique design that belt is not exposed. It is placed inside of the box.

Even though you can spend countless hours comparing and contrasting the pros and cons of different types of vacuum manufacturers, the decision about what vacuum to purchase ultimately comes down to one simple question. Should you buy a bag vacuum or a bag-less vacuum? While this is totally a choice of personal preference, the simple answer to the question is that you should purchase a bag-less vacuum instead of a bag vacuum. There are several reasons why a bag vacuum is vastly inferior to a bag-less vacuum, but ultimately, if you think that you would enjoy the benefits of a bag vacuum more than you would enjoy the benefits of a bag-less vacuum, then you should certainly get a bag vacuum.

The Scooba 5800 is the first Scooba model made by iRobot. The Scooba 5800 can clean about 250 square feet on every battery charge using only about 2 oz solution with a quart of water. You don't have to purchase Clorox Scooba Cleaning Solution to do the job. You can use white vinegar instead.
The Scooba is known to work well on flat floors such as hardwood floors. It works great even on mud spots and food spills. It sometimes misses some hardened food spills, but it does clean very well.
If you have uneven floors like uneven Mexican style tiles, you shouldn't be buying the Scooba. It will get stuck. If the vertical offset is higher than 1/4", it will not only get stuck, but won't be able to get itself off also. If your floor is uneven and have some serious vertical offsets, a mop will be a better choice.

Eureka Enviro Steamer 310 is a very popular steamer in the market. It is a great floor cleaning tool for cleaning and sanitizing sealed floors. It can do the job without using any chemicals. This is a great benefit of using the Enviro Steamer 310. It can clean tile, vinyl, sealed hardwood and laminate floors.
Because the water and the boiler are in the same housing, water heats up faster and don't lose the steam through a long tube. The Enviro Steamer 310 also comes with a telescopic handle which can be adjusted for your comfort length. It weighs only 7.5 lbs so you wouldn't have problem using it for a long time.

One of the key features of Dyson DC15 is the ball that allows the vacuum to pivot and roll with the ease. It is a bit tricky to maneuver for first timers, but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to turn the vacuum around easily with a simple move of your wrist.
Another key innovation of Dyson DC15 is its filtration system. If you think that Dyson DC15 comes with a standard filters, you should think again. It uses a totally different filtration system from other vacuum cleaners. Please read the "How Dyson DC15 Filtration System Works" section at the end of this post if you like technical stuff.
Dyson DC15 can look a bit bulky but don't let it discourage from getting it for your home. It comes with powerful suction. I've tested it and I am impressed with its suction power.

Roomba 530 is one of the early version of the third generation Roomba family. One of the major key improvement with Roomba 530 is the infrared sensor that detects obstacles. It makes Roomba to sense approaching object and slows down for a gentle bump. It wasn't always like that with the previous models.
Roomba 530 isn't the latest model from iRobot. But Roomba 530 is still being sold online for much less compared to the latest models. Because of reason, it is among the most popular models being sold. You can save money by purchasing old models online.
The owners of Roomba 530 reported that the side brush fell off after a certain period of usage. It is can be replaced easily but I hope iRobot sorts out this common problem. Other than that, Roomba 530 is quite and works well.

Roomba 560 is one of the latest models of the iRobot's Roombas. It is a third generation model which was introduced in 2007 with an infrared sensor to detect obstacles, and improved mechanical components.
Roomba 560 came out with some key improvements. One of my favorites is the anti-tangle technology. The previous model would just eat a cord until it gets stuck. Roomba 560 tries to untangle itself if anything gets tangled. It isn't perfect, but a great step forward in technology. Just make sure to put the cords and strings away before using the Roomba.
Another key feature that I like is the gentle-touch bumper system. If you've owned the previous models, you would know that the old models doesn't slow down when it detects an object. But Roomba 560 actually slows down if it senses something and hits the object gently. It doesn't dent your wall anyway, but cool feature to have.

Roomba Pro Elite, model number 3100 was produced back in 2003 and it is now a discontinued model. It is the last model of the first generation Roomba family.
Roomba Pro Elite works well on both carpets and hard wood floors. It will clean your room better if you use it more frequently. One key feature of the Roomba Pro Elite is the MAX function which runs the roomba until the battery is completely discharged. It is particularly useful for cleaning large rooms.
One thing you should know about Roomba Pro Elite is that it takes about 12 hours to charge full if you don't have the rapid-charger. We recommend that you get an extra battery and a rapid charger.
